Companies making herbal medicines, cosmetics and nutritional products from different parts of the State will take part in the exhibition, which this year will also include farmers from Indore district who will display medicinal plants.

An official of the Madhya Pradesh Trade and Investment Facilitation Corporation (TRIFAC) told Hindustan Times that 10 entries had been received so far this year, and due to high costs involved two exhibitors would share a stall. The State Government and the exhibitors will equally share the cost, which is about Rs 1.20 lakh per stall.

“Going by the response last year, we expect sales in region of Rs 2 to 2.5 crore in Expo 2006”, he said. “Basically, the exhibition provides an opportunity to the companies and individuals to market their products internationally without involving middlemen, and thereby increasing the margins”, he said.

The companies taking part in the exhibition this year include Venkatesh Food Industries (Chhindwara), Hind Pharma (Bhopal), Sarvamangalam Natural Products (Jabalpur) and Tejaswini Herb (Bhopal).
