CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan today promised to bring the State in the category of developed states within three years from now. He, however, appealed the people to cooperate in developmental activities and take them up as a movement.
While speaking as the chief guest at inauguration of Gwalior Trade Fair here on Saturday evening, Chouhan said the top priority of his government would be to establish direct dialogue with public. Besides, efforts are underway to reduce the communication gap between the government and administration to provide transparent and efficient system. He warned that the government would not tolerate inefficiency and negligence on part of executives.
He said the removal of Shivpuri Collector and Chhindwara SP recently for negligence clearly indicated the government’s intentions to promote effective delivery mechanism system. The government is also aware of various leakages in the system and would try to weed this out as soon as possible.
Chouhan asked the people to become an active partner of the government in carrying out development activities. He criticised the opposition Congress for ‘indulging into mudslinging and immoral conduct’, which sends wrong signal in the public life. He advised the Congress to behave in a responsible manner.
GTF chairman Anurag Bansal gave a detailed account of the Mela activities. The erstwhile ruler of Scindia dynasty, Madhorao Scindia (first) had started this as cattle fair 101 year ago. Spread over 104-acre of land, it has 1250 permanent shops, 1200 temporary enclosures and 500 platforms. This is regarded as one of the biggest fairs of central India.

Prominent among those present included ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Anoop Mishra, Narottam Mishra, Rustam Singh, Narayan Singh Kushwah, MP Dr Ram Lakhan Singh (Bhind), MP Ashok Argal (Morena), MP Agro chairman Munshilal, Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya, district BJP president Abhay Chaudhary, GTF officials and police and local administrative officials.
Chief Minister Chouhan’s wife Ms Sadhana Singh, sister-in-law Sushma Singh, brother-in-law Nirmal and other members of his family were present.
