SAMAJWADI PARTY supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav once again castigated senior party leaders for their silence over the Congress’ tirade against him and party general secretary Amar Singh. Yadav said senior leaders were unresponsive at a time when there was an all-round attack on the party.
Quite perturbed over the apathy of SP ministers, MLAs and MPs in countering the opposition diatribe, the Chief Minister today called upon frontal organizations to prepare a “secret report” of the performance of these leaders and hand it to the party headquarters. Yadav also targeted suspended MP Raj Babbar for playing into the hands of the Congress. However, he said such tactics would never succeed in splitting the party. Without mentioning Babbar’s name Yadav said Congress had been financing him.
Addressing a joint conference of youth wings of the party, the Chief Minister also announced to hold a rally against the Congress-led UPA Government in Delhi on March 2, adding, the Left Front had agreed to join the rally. Yadav said he had already discussed the issue with CPM general secretary Prakash Karat. Yadav asked the youth wings to mobilise people in large number in Delhi. Youth wings chairman Akhilesh Yadav had called the conference to give final touches to cycle rally programme from February 21.

Addressing the gathering, Amar Singh also took dig at the senior party leaders for failing to take the government achievements to the people. He said frontal organisations had to do the work, which senior leaders could not do. Singh also did not spare the SP ministers for their silence on victories in several by-elections.
Singh asked the youth not to depend on MLAs and MPs to strengthen the party. Referring to the RSS’ suggestions to BJP to join hands with the SP, Singh said Panchajan had made similar suggestions in the past about the Congress. Singh said the UPA had been carrying out its hidden agenda by completely ignoring the Left Front.
