Yadav said the SP had identified such officers.

Illegal activities of SP workers would also not be tolerated, he added.

Yadav was chief minister of UP on three occasions – 1989-91, 1993-95 and 2003-07.

Addressing a series of meeting in Bahraich, Shravasti and Siddharth Nagar in eastern UP, Yadav said the officers had wreaked havoc on people to appease the BSP leadership. He called upon the people to dislodge the BSP from power if they wanted adequate security and development.

"We will not tolerate anti-social activities even of SP workers," Yadav said.

He also announced rape victims would be given government jobs. "The incidents of rape will be checked effectively and government jobs will be given to rape victims or one of their family members," he told an election rally in Siddharth Nagar.

He also targeted CM Mayawati for her "imperious lifestyle".
