Mulayam's U-turn over Women's bill

Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav gas reportedly denied that his party has demanded a separate quota for Dalits within the Women's Reservation Bill, according to a TV reports.

Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav gas reportedly denied that his party has demanded a separate quota for Dalits within the Women's Reservation Bill, according to a TV reports.

Instead he said that he favoured the political parties reserving tickets for women candidates.

Earlier, Mulayam had been demanding a separate quota for the women belonging to Dalit, other backward castes and Muslim communities.

He and Lalu had even threatened to withdraw their support to the United Progressive Alliance Government if their demands were not met.
