Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday sent a rejoinder to the NCP chief Sharad Pawar's allegations that his suggestions for having a panel led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fast track Mumbai's key projects lacked transparency and smacked highhandedness.
Fadnavis sent the letters to Modi and Pawar, in which he strongly refuted the charges leveled against him. He said that Pawar's accusation, that Fadnavis has already announced the decision of appointing a PM-led committee during the ongoing winter session of Maharashtra legislature, is baseless.
To support his contentions, the CM sent proceedings of both the houses to the leaders.
The CM added that no such decision had been taken so far during the winter session in Nagpur. "I have explained the issue to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a copy of which has been sent to Mr Pawar, along with the proceedings of the session," said Fadnavis in Nagpur, adding that Pawar did not verify facts before jumping the gun.
On Thursday, the NCP chief has written a letter to PM Modi, slamming Fadnavis' move and said that the Shiv Sena (BJP's partner in the government) was not taken on board before making the announcement.

{{/usCountry}}The former union minister also played the Marathi-Gujarati card which the Sena had used in its fight against the BJP in the state assembly polls. He said the proposal would create a misunderstanding between the people of the two states.
Sources close to the chief minister said Fadnavis has hit Pawar hard for playing politics over the issue, especially the Maharashtra-Gujarati issue.
