Police have busted three modules of terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operating in Mumbai, but the real module that executed the July 11 blasts in commuter trains eludes them, sources said on Friday.

Anti-Terrorist Squad which is probing the blasts has busted two modules so far, one consisting of Kamal Ansari of Madhubani district of Bihar, and the second one led by key LeT operative, Faizal Sheikh of Mumbai.

With the detention of LeT suspect Abdul Hameed from Surankote area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, ATS said a third module that was operative in Mumbai has been busted.

But senior ATS officers admitted that there was still no convincing evidence to suggest that these modules had knowledge, or had participated in July 11 blasts.

"There is no doubt that these modules had potential to foment trouble in Mumbai, and it cannot be denied that the ongoing blasts probe led to their arrest. But none of them could be called as perpetrators of blasts," a top ATS official said.

Meanwhile, ATS chief KP Raghuvanshi said that Hameed had just been held in Jammu and Kashmir and would be brought here only if the ATS confirmed his involvement in blasts or LeT activities.
