Mumbai Police Commissioner Ranjit Singh Sharma, indicted in the multi-crore stamp paper scam by the Special Investigating Team, on Thursday proceeded on leave.
Sharma applied for leave when he met Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Thursday morning. The leave has been sanctioned, sources said.

The Special Investigating Team probing the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam in its report on Wednesday mentioned nine acts of omissions and commissions by the Commissioner Sharma.
