The constituency in the drought-hit district of Nawada still has a fair dose of muscle power on display as it goes to polls in the fifth phase on Tuesday.

Of the 13 candidates in the fray, Congress candidate Neetu Singh, sitting BJP MLA Anil Singh, LJP’s Anil Mehta and independent candidate Kaulesh Kumar have several criminal cases pending against them. “The biggest problem here is bribery. Everything has a rate. Even a signature costs R101,” said Aswini Kumar from Shawajpur.
The voters are disillusioned. “You can write anything you want. But I’m sure nothing will change here. The entire system is corrupt,” said Ashok Kumar, a farmer from Baidyanathpur.
