Muslim doctors, health officials take out rally

A TEAM of medical practitioners, belonging to the minority community with the help of health officials, took out a rally in the Muslim-dominated areas on Monday. They urged the people to come up to the anti-Japanese Encephalitis (JE) vaccination booths. The people of the areas raised various questions about the quality of vaccines. The team members replied to their questions and dispelled their doubts.

The people of the areas raised various questions about the quality of vaccines.

The team members replied to their questions and dispelled their doubts.

Besides MLC Dr YD Singh, CMO Dr MN Yadav,  Dr Aziz Ahmad, Dr Safiurrehman, Dr Farhat Abbasi, former Mayor All Ahmad Serwar, Dr BB Gupta, Dr RN Singh, Dr Viswhwa Mohan Bhatia, Dr Rajesh Gupta, Dr Azam Beg, Ausaf Ahmad Siddiqui and others participated in the rally.

They made man-to-man contact at Nizampur, Rehmat Nagar, Unchwa, Illahibagh, Khoonipur, Tiprapur, Bakhtiyar Mohalla, Jafra Bazar, Mirzapur, Bahrampur and other localities. 

The vaccination booths in these areas did not receive overwhelming support from Muslims. The members appealed to the people to send their children for vaccination.  During the drive, the health officials contacted private medical practitioners and asked their support to ensure the success of anti-JE vaccination programme. CMO Dr Yadav said that a permanent booth was established at the district hospital. Besides, 15 moving booths at various health centres were set up.  In last two days on May 29 and 30, the owners of all the nursing homes and child specialists would set up special booths.
