A silent war has erupted in Muzaffarnagar with sporadic murders and unexplained arson taking place as a fallout of the communal violence that took place in the district and its surrounding rural areas two months back, resulting in the killing of around 60 people.

At least a dozen murders have been reported in the district in two months, which may have communal angle. Besides, many farmers have reported to the police that their crops were set on fire and tubewells filled with mud.

At the moment, the administration is terming only two incidents as the fallout of the September violence: A person was killed in Khampur village a few days back and three Muslim boys were killed in Mohammadpurraisingh village on Wednesday.

“On an average, 25 murders are reported in the district every month. But after the communal violence, the number fell but is again picking up,” says Kaushal Raj Sharma, district magistrate of Muzaffarnagar.

Now the administration is trying hard to work out all murders as soon as possible.
