Naidu for measures to contain water-borne diseases

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials to take appropriate and necessary measures to contain the spread of water-borne diseases in the state.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials to take appropriate and necessary measures to contain the spread of water-borne diseases in the state.

In a review meeting held here on Thursday, Naidu directed the Chief Secretary to closely monitor the situation and conduct teleconference with all district collectors and concerned officials and arrest the spread of gastoenteritis, Japense Encephalitis and Dengue.

He also directed the municipal commissioners to undertake preventive and precautionary steps like spraying DDT, fogging operations and cleaning of drains etc, an official release said here.

Water logging detected anywhere should be immediately cleared, the release said.

Naidu also directed Chief Secretary to instruct panchayat officials and all municipal commissioners to take up sanitation drive, the release added.
