Under the Bharatiya Janata Party's countrywide Namo tea-stall drive, the party's Janipur mandal in this district organised a gathering of voters and supporters to mobilise them to make all-out efforts to ensure the success of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
The BJP activists, led by Mandal president Praduman Singh, assembled at the Booth No 128 of the New Plot area and set up a Namo tea-stall to offer tea to the people and seek their support.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP senior leader Chander Mohan Sharma said that the Congress leadership had shown contempt for tea-sellers when it disparagingly proclaimed that the BJP's PM nominee had worked in a tea stall at a young age.
He said that selling tea is not a crime nor it is a disrespectable calling. "The Congress only believes in dynastic rule and it cannot digest any commoner to reach to the post of Prime Minister," he added.
Sharma said that the utterances of Congress leaders against tea sellers has invited widespread anger and resentment among tea-sellers and other small-time self employed citizens across the country and they have made up their mind to get united to teach the Congress a lesson.
Similarly, another Namo tea stall was set up in Nanak Nagar under the leadership of BJP Beopar Cell State Convenor Kul Bhushan Mohtra, wherein party leaders including Ashok Koul, Sat Sharma CA, Chander Mohan Gupta, Rajesh Gupta and Tarsem Choudhary also participated.
