Transport Minister Naresh Agrawal has called an emergency meeting of the UPCRTC officers, including the regional managers (RMs), on Monday morning to chalk out an action plan against the defiant employees.

Though there is no set agenda of the meeting, sources said the meeting had been called to prepare a plan to deal with the agitating employees with an iron hand. The UPSRTC had lodged FIRs against 550 employees for resorting to a 24-hour ‘chakka jam’ agitation on July 10. The FIRs were lodged by the RMs and the ARMs all over the State under the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA). Sources said orders were likely to be issued to arrest all those against whom cases had been registered. They also included employees union leaders.

Employees will hold demonstrations at all the district headquarters tomorrow and summit memorandum the chief minister through the DMs to demand, among other thongs, removal of Naresh Agrawal from the Cabinet,” said UPREU general secretary Tej Bahadur Sharma. He said the employees would proceed on an indefinite strike from Tuesday night if their demands were not met.
