Narottam XI, Madan XI register easy wins

NAROTTAM XI, Champions and Champions XI, Madan XI and Khanna Club 9th Mile won their respective matches in the Agniban Trophy tennis ball cricket tournament played on Tuesday night at the Usha Raje cricket ground.

NAROTTAM XI, Champions and Champions XI, Madan XI and Khanna Club 9th Mile won their respective matches in the Agniban Trophy tennis ball cricket tournament played on Tuesday night at the Usha Raje cricket ground.

The first match was played between Bercha XI and Narottam XI. Batting first, Bercha XI scored 42 runs in 10 overs. In reply, Narottam XI scored the required runs in 8.2 overs.

The second match was played between Champion and Champion XI and Shri Ram XI. Santosh Nair and Santhos Nana bowled brilliantly and captured three wickets each to bundle out Shri Ram XI for 35 runs. In reply, Champions and Champions XI batsmen reached the target losing just two wickets in 4.5 overs.

Champions and Champions XI players showed their class in all the departments, be it fielding, catching or bowling. They received good applause from the crowd. They are one of the favourites for the Agniban Trophy. The other contenders are Khanna Sports 9th Mile.

In the fifth match, Khanna Sports Club 9th Mile had good batting practice. They scored 92/9 in 10 overs. Amrith batted brilliantly to score brisk 31 with four huge sixes. Dharmendra and Shankar took three wickets each. In reply, Baneshwari Reliance XI managed to score 39/9 in 10 overs. Dilip and Ajay grabbed four wickets each.
