A hardcore Naxalite was killed and a police official critically injured in an encounter between Maoists and police at Majhiawa in Gaya district tonight.
SP S Khopade said acting on a tip-off; a police team raided a place at Majhiawa where Naxalites had assembled.

On seeing policemen, the ultras fired and in the ensuing encounter one CPI (Maoist) was killed.
Police official Mithilesh Prasad suffered gunshot injury and was being treated at a nearby hospital in critical condition.
