The administration is worried about their movements in the division and their shifting from one place to another in various villages.

Intelligence agencies have submitted a list of 427 naxal-affected villages of the state. This included 25 villages of Deoria and one of Kushinagar district.

Taking the report seriously, the State Government has constituted a high-level committee to monitor the implementation of various development schemes in the Naxal-affected villages. The Minister for Agriculture will head the committee that will make spot verification of the implementation of the scheme.

The considerable rise in Naxal activities in villages caused worry to the officials. Besides, the backwardness and poor civic amenities in these villages have provided a favourable condition to the Naxals to spread their wings.

According to reports, earlier the intelligence agencies have identified only 252 villages in six districts of the State, which were affected by Naxal movement.

Sources said that principal secretary Ambedkar Gram Vikas DC Lakha directed the divisional commissioners to monitor the development work in Naxal-affected villages. The Government will develop roads and electrify the village.

The State Government will allocate funds from Avasthapna Nidhi to carry out the development work. Three committees will be constituted to implement and review the development projects.
