A Delhi court has issued non-bailable warrant (NBW) against former BJP MP Kirti Azad for not appearing in a case of election offence.

Metropolitan Magistrate Vikas Dhull issued non-bailable warrant against Kirti for December 2 this year in a case of violation of section 171-H (illegal payments in connection with an election without authority of the candidate) of the IPC during the 2003 Delhi Assembly Elections.
The former cricketer is being prosecuted for distributing certain Tourism Ministry material and bags, which contained leaflets appealing to the people to vote in his wife Poonam Azad's favour, in the Gole Market constituency area form where she was a candidate, according to the FIR dated November 26, 2003.
According to the prosecution, Kirti has not been appearing in the court for the last few hearings.
