The NCERT on Thursday started an orientation programme on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) through EDUSAT for the teachers’ educators from across the country.

The NCF is NCERT’s guiding document for developing textbooks. The programme, that will continue till February nine, will focus on the basis aspects of the NCF like strengthening the national system of education with focus on values, reduction of curriculum load, systemic changes, common school system, connecting knowledge to life outside school, shifting from traditional method of teaching and making exams more flexible.

“Our idea is to cover all teachers’ educators in the country to make them aware on NCF, its key features and objectives. This will help them spread ideas on systemic reforms in education as envisaged in NCF,” Prof M A Khader, Head, Curriculum Group of NCERT, said on Thursday.
