A feasibility report is being prepared for the project to ascertain the number of cars that can be parked there. It will be submitted soon.

At present, no such parking facility exists and tourist buses are usually parked on the sides of the road, which clogs traffic.

The parking facility is also expected to benefit those coming to a community hall located on the road. “While the traffic on the stretch is not much, there are times when the combined traffic of tourist buses and people visiting the community halls create jams,” said a senior official of NDMC.

The multi-level underground parking will be built on the plot opposite Birla Mandir. The plot belongs to the ministry of tourism, which intends to build a new office there. The work of building the office complex has also been given to the NDMC.
