The BJP sources said that earlier Tomar and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had decided to constitute the State BJP executive after the State Cabinet reshuffle which was expected to take place after Makar Sankranti. But the State Cabinet reshuffle may now be delayed further, hence the need of constitution of the executive body.

The sources said that the delay in Cabinet reshuffle would not affect the functioning of the government but delay in the constitution of the executive certainly affected the party’s functioning.

Notably, over one and a half months have passed since formal declaration of Tomar’s election as the State BJP president on November 21. Former State BJP president Satyanarayan Jatia came in for sharp criticism because he delayed constitution of his team.

After his election Tomar told the journalists that he would constitute his team by December end. But then he had not realised the affect of malmas which was to set in on December 15. Also, the BJP leadership at the Centre was in dilemma as to how and where to accommodate State BJP organising general secretary Kaptan Singh Solanki.
