Adding letters to names for astrological luck is an old thing. But now, you can get a new nickname if you want the stars to smile. The latest solution for marital clashes are numerologically compatible nicknames.

“We realised that one of the reasons for incompatibility between couples is that the vibrations of numbers in their names don’t match. If both the man and the woman have their name letters totalling up to number one, which is the number of sun, both become dominating and as a result, their relationship becomes stormy. So, we give them numerologically-matched names by which they should address each other,” explains Manisha Kaushik, numerologist and name therapist.

Numerologist Pankaj Malhotra asked a friend to address her husband as ‘Avi’ instead of using his full name ‘Avinash’. “They had problems as their names clashed astrologically. The shorter name was more
compatible,” he explains.

Brides-to-be are also consulting experts for lucky nicknames. “Alphabets that are used in the nicknames are compatible with each other and also foster better relationships,” says numerologist Niraj Mancchanda. Sometimes, having multiple nicknames can also be a problem. “I faced a lot of personal problems and astrologers said it was because some people call me Geeti, Geetu etc. They asked me to use just one nickname,” says Gitika Lamba, 25, a homemaker.
