No Al-Qaeda base in J&K: Hizb

The Valley's main terror body rejects claims that the international terror network has set up base in the state.

Reports that the international terror network Al-Qaeda has set up its base in Jammu and Kashmir was on Friday dismissed by Hizbul Mujahideen, the main terrorist outfit in the valley.

"Al-Qaeda had neither any base in Jammu and Kashmir in the past nor does it have any at present," a spokesman of Hizbul said in a statement to a local news agency.

A man identifying himself as the head of the Indian network of Al-Qaeda had reportedly called up a news agency in Srinagar on Thursday claiming that the terror outfit had set up its base in the state.
