Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has said that there was "no change" in Pakistan's stance over Kashmir, and that it would "not show unilateral flexibility" to find a solution to the long pending issue.
"There cannot be a change in our stance alone ... it has to be reciprocal," Kasuri told the media persons here at the Foreign Office.
Replying to a question about President Pervez Musharraf's recent interview with an Indian TV channel, he said, "The President said nothing new, as the proposals he made during the interview have been made several times in the past.
Our position is very clear ... Pakistan will not move unilaterally. What the president has done is give a lot of thought so there can be a debate.
There should be a debate both in India and Pakistan, which should be positive."
"We hope that with the experience of the past, they will go for a solution that satisfies the aspirations of the Kashmiris," he said.
He further said that the Indians "are also well aware, as are Pakistanis, that the purpose of this exercise is to create peace, and that can only come if we have a solution which is acceptable to all" .
