Susairaj (27) and her naval officer fiancé ML Jerome Mathew (25) are accused in the Neeraj Grover murder case.

Susairaj, who has acted in four Kannada movies, had moved an application seeking permission to have home food while in jail, complaining she was not comfortable with the food provided in jail.

In November, Susairaj had moved the sessions court for procuring a special brand of shampoo, soap and other toiletries.

During Tuesday’s hearing, prison doctor S.A. Khan said that though Susairaj was treated for dysentery, she did not require home food. Susairaj’s lawyer Acharya Murthi then sought that she be provided at least diet food — this is given to inmates sometimes.

Accordingly, Additional Sessions Judge C.A. Jadhav ordered jail authorities to provide her with diet food on regular basis.

According to the prosecution, Mathew, an aeronautical engineer posted at the Kochi naval base, and Susairaj killed Synergy Adlabs executive Grover on May 7 at her flat in Solitaire Apartments in Malad. The duo then allegedly cut his body into pieces and took it to an isolated spot in Manor in Thane, where they burnt it.
