The officials who camped in Bihar’s Khagaria and Aurangabad towns for five days returned without any clue, prompting the city police to hand over the investigation of the case to the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA).

The police suspected that the accused, Rahul Kumar, had fled to Bihar after the girl, Vaanya Chadha, got bullet injury outside her Trinity Tower apartment in DLF City on August 21.

The police had also put Kumar’s mobile phone on surveillance but it was of no help.

Meanwhile, the victim who has been battling for life in the ICU of the Medanta-the Medicity was put off from the ventilator on Thursday.

According to the attending doctors, she would have to stay in the ICU for the next few days as the 15-inch-wide wound will take time to heal.

Chawla said that it was socking for the family to know that the cops are yet to trace of the accused.
