Addressing the students on the occasion, AISA State president Ramayan Ram, said that the varsity had no significant achievement to boast of with its central status. Its status had declined in the past one year, he said.

The decisions taken in the students court included demand for cancelling the order of reduction in seats, scholarships based on merit-cum-means basis, 27 percent reservation for the OBCs, checking entry of criminals in student politics, availability of updated information on varsity’s website, recruitment of teachers against vacant posts, procurement of new books in the library and construction of extra rooms to accommodate students in the library,

The students demanded arrangements for clean drinking water and toilets across the campus, canteens in all faculties, implementation of central fee structure in the varsity, common hall for girl students within the campus, women’s cell to check incidents of misbehaviour with girls, assured availability of medicines and doctors in the dispensary, modernisation of laboratories and introduction of new courses in the varsity etc.
