The CPI on Saturday said the final result in the Indo-US nuclear deal was still a long way off and there was no cause for celebration over the Senate vote on the matter.

"The bill as it stands adopted contains a number of clauses and conditions which do not conform to the July 18 (Indo-US joint) statement, least of all does it answer all the concerns that were expressed by the Left and the scientific community at large", the party central secretariat said in a statement.

It still remained to be seen how the bills were adopted and reconciled by both the Houses of the US Congress and "how our concerns are met. The final result is a long way off", the party said.

"Therefore, those who are welcoming the Senate vote are in too much of a hurry ... Let it be remembered that the underlined object of the US is to drag India into its global strategy", the CPI warned.
