Even as the demand to shift the venue of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) from Goa to Delhi is gathering momentum at ongoing festival, the Goa government said the possibility of shifting did not arise as the state has been already declared as a permanent venue.

"The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry clearly states that Goa is a permanent venue," Sanjith Rodrigues, Chief Executive Officer, Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), hosting the IFFI, said.

The Malayalam filmmakers had demanded that the IFFI be shifted from Goa as it is getting converted into a 'Carnival'.

"All importance is given to mainstream cinema while those in Indian panorama are neglected by screening them against the Bollywood films so that people do not turn up for Indian panorama," complained Malayalam filmmaker Albert adding, "at least they should chart the films in such a way that Indian panorama films get importance."

Albert also rued the organisational problems during the film festival which forced him to stick his film's posters of his own.
