The Congress said Wednesday that there is no rethink in the party on the "issue-based support" it has declared for an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi.

"There will be no rethinking on the issue-based support the Congress has given to AAP," spokesman Sandeep Dikshit, also the son of former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit, told TimesNow news channel.

He said the Congress was supporting the AAP because of the development-related promises made in its manifesto.

"Our support to the AAP's government formation should be seen as Congress support to AAP's manifesto," said Dikshit.

"They have (said) that within weeks of forming the government, they will start development work in the city.

"If it is so, we are with them," said Dikshit.

He said the Congress had given transparent governance in Delhi in the last 15 years.

"If AAP is able to maintain the same level of transparency, then the Congress is ready to work with the AAP government," he said.
