"Sorting out the compensation issue will be done on a war footing. Hopefully, it will be completed in the next 15-20 days," said SK Dwivedi, chief executive officer (CEO), Noida Authority.

The authority officials had a meeting with additional district magistrate Harnam Singh on Friday. As per the plan, the district administration along with the authority staff will visit all the 23 villages one by one and take up individual farmer’s issues for appropriate redressal.

Officials said they have already distributed about Rs 350 crore among farmers since October 2011, when the Allahabad high court had granted them 64% additional compensation and 10% (instead of earlier 5-6%) share in the developed land. But due to paucity of land, the authority has been struggling to provide increased share of developed plots.

The increased cash payment mean a burden of more than Rs 1,000 crore. The required land for farmers, not visible though, will cost more than Rs 2,000 crore. "We have sufficient funds,” said the Noida CEO.
