"This is nothing new for us. This threat is always there on vital installations and us. We are alert and ready to face any eventuality. We do take precautions," Barua told reporters today referring to the threat received yesterday.

He said that the ULFA always issued threats before important dates like January 26 and August 15. "They always make these threats. Paresh Barua wants to have his name published in the media."

He said though some important leaders were behind bars, the threat was not being taken lightly.

"We will have to be extra vigilant, extra alert 24 hours and will have to prevent it. This is like a football game. If they score one goal, we will have to score two goals," he said.

"You can imagine if all these explosives were actually detonated and the devastation they would have created. This we have prevented. A fairly good job we have done in 2009. I am sure we will carry on this year also with renewed vigour," he added.
