The situation has arisen, as marriage hall owners have said it is not possible to implement the administration’s order to put up boards displaying the rate of booking, waiters’ decoration charges etc.

On its part, the administration has constituted three teams to conduct on-the-spot inspection. It has said marriage halls flouting the eight-point guidelines issued by the administration will be sealed and an FIR lodged against the owners. The administration has issued notices to around 70 marriage halls in the city. They have been directed to inform it about implementation of the guidelines by Monday.

Marriage house owners have been directed to display their rates on two by four feet space on the wall, along with their registration numbers. They have also been asked to issue receipts for booking of marriage halls.

A delegation of marriage hall owners, led by SP leader Ashok Lohia, handed over a memorandum to the district administration, demanding withdrawal of the order.

The delegation members said sometimes customers asked them to set up special halls. They also said they had been asked to submit details of bookings in a month.
