On Sunday, Sami lodged a counter-complaint against his domestic help, Raju Prasad Kayshub, at the Oshiwara police station. Kayshub had earlier lodged a non-cognisable complaint against Sami’s manager, Afroze (identified only by his first name) over a domestic quarrel.

The police said the incident took place at Sami’s Oshiwara residence on Sunday. According to the police records, Sami’s mother, Naureen, had asked Kayshub for a cup of tea. The delay in serving tea led her to reprimand the domestic help, leading to an argument.

Afroze, who was present at the time, intervened. “This led to a heated exchange of abuses between Kayshub and Afroze,” said Police Inspector D. Sankhe.

Kayshub later lodged a complaint against Afroze at the Oshiwara police station, stating that Afroze had abused and threatened him, possibly at the behest of Sami, said the police.

Later in the day, when Afroze briefed Sami about the entire episode, Sami lodged the counter complaint against Kayshub. In his complaint, Sami has stated that when he confronted his domestic help, Kayshub, his wife Sabah abused him.
