With the World Cup bugle sounded and Ganguly making a fairy-tale comeback, the famed handloom weavers of West Bengal are encashing on the frenzy as Sourav saris are set to hit the market. Dada, as Ganguly is fondly called, is being featured on the Bengali tanter sari (handloom sari) made at Katwa in Burdwan district, about 150 north of Kolkata.

"We are making about 150 pieces with Sourav Ganguly in action featured on those. We hope the Sourav saris would be in demand," said Sandip Roy, a handloom weaver of Amdanga Tantubai Samity (Amdanga Handloom Society) at Katwa. According to Achinta Das, the samity manager, each sari is completed after three to four days of painstaking work. "Hope there is good demand for these saris," Das said.

Bengali Band "Jowar" (High Tide) is setting the city on fire with their peppy track "Team India". They have also dedicated a song exclusively to Ganguly.
