An NGO set up by an NRI, Sahaj Sankalp, aims to educate the poor and underprevileged children of India, and has grown tremendously from humble beginnings, within a span of just five years.
Started by Dr Rajiv Nagpal an NRI, Sahaj Sankalp educates poor children & develops their personality through a unique concept known as “Bal Grah”. In Bal Grah, a housewife who has proficiency, commitment and conviction volunteers for the cause of education. This teacher who is called ‘Noble Mother’ fills the gap of a mother in these children's lives. There are currently 12 Bal Grahs throughout the country with as many as 200 children studying there.
The USP of these 'Bal Grahs' is its human resource. There are MBAs, Doctors, Engineers & Social developers which form a complimenting team that is able to utilize the funds efficiently and in the right direction to serve the poor children. They have also introduced the concept of computer education whereby students have to pay a nominal fee to attain the basic knowledge as well as proficiency in the field of computers.
Their basic aim is to create adequate opportunity for the needy children in the age group of 4 to 14 years by supporting their very basic needs for growth.
