When a high school student filmed his girl cousin in the nude on his mobile, he could not have imagined his juvenile offence would blow up in his face.
Ageya, the student, and his three friends landed in the police net on Saturday after one of them (friends) circulated an obscene MMS showing the former’s cousin in the nude and then blackmailed him with a demand of Rs 20,000.
Investigation by police has established all the four were guilty in some way or the other.
Police also confiscated a laptop, a couple of mobile phones, a pen-drive and a CD from the arrested persons.
The friends are Lakhan Lal, who runs a cyber cafe, Gaurav and Shyam. The girl in question and Agyeya live in the same house.
Station house officer (Kalyanpur) Hari Ram Verma said Agyeya’s father, Shravan, complained some people had been blackmailing his son on the mobile phone for the past one week, saying unless he (Agyeya) paid up Rs 20,000, his cousin’s nude photo would be posted on the internet. Kalyanpur police then put the mobile phone under surveillance and tracked down Lakhan on Friday night.
Further interrogation revealed Agyeya had filmed his cousin on his mobile, and the clip got saved on Lakhan’s computer (at the cyber café) when Ageya was trying to download songs there.
