They have also threatened to launch a stir in case their demands were not met within 24 hours. A copy of the memorandum has also been given to the chief medical superintendent of the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital.
In the memorandum, the nurses have demanded repair of electricity line passing through the staff residential quarters, cleaning of choked hospital sewer and the sewer line of colonies on the hospital campus, generator connection to the matron and nurses duty room, release of dues, issuing of ID cards to the nurses and update and regularisation of nurses GPF books and receipts.
District Nurses’ Association president Safia Khatun said the MLN Medical College was also asked to reconsider its decision to open new departments in the SRN Hospital, until the new appointment of nurses.
“As there is already crisis of nurses, the opening of new departments will create an additional burden on them,” said.
