Gangraped by three youths, a 17-year-old girl attempted suicide in Odisha’s Rayagada town last week. She took sleeping pills and when that failed, set herself afire.

On Monday, the girl, who has sustained around 80% burns, was shifted from the local hospital to a hospital in Vishakapatnam in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh after her condition deteriorated.

On January 2, while bicycling home from work, she was accosted by three youths who raped her.
