Additional commissioner Jasveer Singh, who was suspended in 2004, was re-instated in December last year. He was living in Officer’ Colony while the other members of his family were living in his native district Agra. On Thursday evening, the police came to know about the incident from Rajeev Gaur, who was deployed in Jasveer’s service and had gone to his flat at around 7 pm to supply milk.
When he failed to get any response after continuously knocking at Jasveer’s door, he informed the SSP’s office.
Police official rushed to the spot and broke open the main door of the flat. They found Jasveer lying on his bed and everything in the room was in order.
Police officials called Dr Shashank Shekhar who confirmed the Jasveer’s death.
Rajeev informed the police that when he went to deliver lunch to Jasveer, a young girl also came to his room. Thereafter, he returned home and when he went back in the evening, he found that the door was locked, Rajeev said.
Rajeev disclosed that the woman in question usually came to Jasveer’s flat, but he did not know much about her.
Sources claimed that the post-mortem report did not state the cause of the death, which increased the worries of the officials.
