Olmert says he won't free Palestinians

Olmert ruled out the release of Palestinian prisoners as a pre-condition to the release an Israeli soldier.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert ruled out on Thursday the release of Palestinian prisoners as a pre-condition to the release an Israeli soldier kidnapped by Palestinian militants in cross-border raid in June.

"As long as Gilad Shalit is not freed, I will not deal with the release of Palestinian prisoners," he told Israeli public radio.
