"The chief minister usually stays away from the assembly proceedings, a fact that has been pointed out to him many times. But after the boycott of the PDP, he religiously attended the House from morning till evening," alleged PDP's senior leader Iftikhar Ansari on Saturday.

Addressing mediapersons, the PDP leader said: "The chief minister has made the PDP's boycott a very big issue and has been trying to mislead people through baseless statements."

"There is no question of any member having sought to draw allowances for the days they boycotted the assembly or council. It is purely a figment of the chief minister's imagination. This is a very ridiculous attempt to malign his political opponents," he said.

On Wednesday, Omar had hit out at the PDP for boycotting the budget session saying its MLAs stayed away but took all dues available to the legislators for attending the business.

"By making grave accusations, Omar has put the integrity of the chairman legislative council and the speaker of the legislative assembly at stake and has undermined the respect and authority of both houses. He has caused a serious breach of privilege of the members of PDP legislature party by publicly spreading canards and falsehood against them. A formal notice has been termed on the subject," he added.
