Onachantha-Kerala Fest '06 to be held in UAE

The biggest Onam Carnival in the UAE will feature a wide range of music concerts and ethnic cuisines.

As part of promoting products from Kerala in the national and international market, Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will organise a ten-day exhibition, 'Eastern Onachantha-Kerala Fest 2006' at Dubai Sharjah Highway, UAE from August 27 to September 5.

Arranged in 50 stalls, this biggest Onam Carnival in the UAE will be celebrated with cultural and entertainment programmes, exclusive shopping offers and delicious ethnic cuisines, Raja Sethunath, Vice President, Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told mediapersons here today.

A wide range of cultural programmes including music concert, mohiniyattam, kuchippudi, bharathanatyam, Kerala nadanam, cinematic dance, drama, comedy show, panchavadyam, Kavyanjali, kathaprasangam and painting are planned during the exhibition.

Competitions like tug of war, floral carpet contest, cookery contest, eating contest and beauty contest will be arranged as part of the carnival, he said.

Prominent advertising agency in UAE, ADVA Advertising LLC, Dubai, is jointly organising the programme along with the chamber, he said.
