One arrested for running fake recruitment agency

Police here arrested a person from Jaganoo village for his alleged involvement in running a fake recruitment agency and cheating several youth of the district in the name of giving them government jobs.

Police here arrested a person from Jaganoo village for his alleged involvement in running a fake recruitment agency and cheating several youth of the district in the name of giving them government jobs.

According to a report the accused has been identified as Balwant Singh, son of Parkash Singh, resident of Tandal in Udhampur for his involvement in running a fake recruitment racket in the district.

The report added that one Janak Raj, son of Amar Chand, resident of Tehsil Ramnagar, registered a complaint with the Udhampur Police station that Balwant has taken Rs 50,000 from him and assured him a job in the Indian Army, but later failed to do so, and also refused to return his money.

Raj added that the accused had duped many others. He said he has also lodged a complaint at the Millitary Intelligence Unit of the Northern Command in this regard.

Udhampur police headed by station house officer (SHO) Mahesh Sharma raided all the possible hideouts and arrested Balwant from Jaganoo locality.
