A PALTRY sum of Rs 300 led to an armed clash between two groups at Abhinandan Nagar on Tuesday. One person, said to be an RSS member, was injured in the clash. The person who caused the injury is said to be close to a local corporator.

According to Hira Nagar police, an FIR was lodged by Ram Dheeraj Pal of 110, New Bori Nagar, which said that he had lent Rs 800 to one Nandu of the same locality. While Nandu had returned Rs 500, they had squabbles over the remaining amount.

On Tuesday evening, Pal was sitting with his brother Raju and friend Om Prakash in front of his shop in Abhinandan Nagar.  At about 9 pm Nandu accompanied by three persons identified as Kamlesh, Parihar and Tannu, came there.

On seeing Nandu, the complainant asked his brother to demand the remaining Rs 300. When Raju did so, he was verbally abused by Nandu and his accomplices and soon the verbal duel degenerated into a brawl. Sticks, stones and sharp-edged weapons were used in the attack.

Sources said the incident could flare up since local corporator Shekhar Patel and RSS had links with those involved in the incident. Some of the persons involved in the clash were treated for their injuries at Maharaja Yeshwant Rao Hospital (MYH). Police have registered a case under sections 325, 294,509/34 of the IPC.
