"If JMM could get the statehood, it can also run the state. For this we will talk with national parties like Congress, the BJP and regional parties for support," Soren told a press conference here.

Soren earlier in the day made his intentions known when he made it clear in Bokarao that he will not settle for anything less than the post of chief minister. Asked whether former chief minister and BJP leader Arjun Munda had spoken to him, Soren said they had talked on phone a couple of days ago, but did not divulge what transpired.

Munda also called today but Soren said he could not speak to him. When reminded that he had earlier called the BJP communal, Soren denied it saying, "I did not say so in the past or now. What benefit will I get by defaming other parties?"
