A number of other roads to far flung and remote areas, including connecting villages near Line of Control (LoC), and Mughal road remained closed for a second day on Sunday due to heavy snowfall.

A traffic police spokesman said here hundreds of vehicles, including carrying passengers and essentials for Valley, left Jammu this morning.

He said no vehicle would be allowed from Srinagar on Sunday.

The highway, connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country, was closed yesterday morning following heavy snowfall.

However, the highway was put through in the afternoon after Border Roads Organisation (BRO) cleared the snow on the highway. The authorities later decided to allow only one way traffic on the highway to avoid any accident and traffic jam till further orders.

The Mughal road has also been closed due to heavy snowfall.

A number of roads to villages near LoC in North Kashmir have been also closed due to heavy snowfall.
