Halim, however, allowed the members of these parties to read their separate adjournment motions on Nandigram, but did not allow any discussion.

At this, the TC members rushed to the well shouting slogans and unfurled black flags. They were joined by their colleagues from the Congress bench and the lone SUCI member Deboprasad Sarkar.

Even as the demonstration was on, the Speaker asked Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee to give his statement on relief and law and order measures taken by the government in Nandigram, besides another statement on the presence of the CRPF there.

The chief minister began reading the statements but as nothing could be heard in the din, the Speaker directed that the statements be taken as read.

Halim also did not admit an adjournment motion moved by Congress member Asit Mal on the notice issued by him barring journalists and cameramen of news channels from entering the House.

Stating that an adjournment motion could not be moved regarding an administrative decision by the Speaker, Halim said, "I am all-in-all in this House."
