A five year-old boy was killed on the spot and three other minors were injured when lightning struck them at Ganua village in Sundargarh district, 140 km from here last evening.

The tragedy occurred when the children were playing at a playground.
The three others -- Lina Barik (14), Sushanta Barik (12) and Mitu Barik (8) of the same village were admitted to Koida health centre where their condition was reported out of danger.
