Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Monday asked the people to dislodge the Congress at the Centre the way they removed DMK in the state, while accusing the UPA of betraying the state on several occasions.
Kicking off her Lok Sabha election campaign from the temple town of Kanchipuram, Jayalalithaa said made a pitch for a larger role in the national politics, saying the "UPA has looted the country and must be removed from power".
"AIADMK needs to be in power at the Centre so that Tamil Nadu's demands are heard and addressed," Jayalalithaa said, asking people to ensure their interests are protected and promoted.
She also said the change of the government at the Centre was necessary for "Sri Lankan atrocities on our fishermen to stop completely".
Last year, she had said "if Tamil Nadu has to survive, prosper and progress, we will have to win all seats from the state and Puducherry".
"Only then we will be able to lead the country after the Lok Sabha elections," she told a gathering last year.

{{/usCountry}}On Monday, she reiterated, "The state government can alone not solve all issues such as kerosene allocation, katchatheevu issue, Lankan Tamils' problem."
She listed 10 instances she said showed how the Centre had betrayed Tamil Nadu and accused it of snatching away rights of states.
